Job Description

TransForm Automotive L.L.C., is an advanced metal-forming manufacturer of precision powertrain & engine components utilizing advanced proprietary stamping, machining, laser-welding and assembly processes. The company is involved in significant advanced research and application of tooling and die equipment, process design and development.


TransForm Automotive LLC has two manufacturing facilities in Sterling Heights, a new manufacturing facility in Shelby Township, Michigan and a fourth in London, Ontario, Canada.  We are   owned by AMSTED International, based in Chicago, Illinois.   AMSTED Industries is a diversified manufacturer of industrial components serving the railroad, vehicular, construction and building markets.

The best candidate will be proficient in:


·         Set Up, repair of programs and tooling,  and machine troubleshooting

·         Proven track record of implementing improvements in CNC machining processes in order to optimize capability for better efficiency 

·         New product launches from setup to first off as coordinated with Engineering and Maintenance

·         Preventative Maintenance tasks to include, corrective actions, and equipment improvements on assembly equipment

·         Writing Operator Instructions

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CNC Programmer 
  • Experience in set up, and troubleshooting of machining processes including program modifications and tooling improvements
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, and its suppliers

·         Understanding of stamping and manufacturing processes and systems

Thorough knowledge and experience with M & G code programming with an emphasis on CNC turning centers is a must.  Fanuc controls experience a plus.

  • Ability to read prints, select and install tooling, create cutter paths, and develop, document and optimize the processes for high volume production of steel and aluminum stampings.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing
