The Accounting/Payroll Coordinator will partner directly with the plant leadership team to support the achievement of the plant’s performance objectives. With the support of the Plant Controller for North America and the Human Resources Manager, this role will help support plant specific month end accounting and reporting, quarterly and annual forecasting, coordination of capital spend, cost performance analytics, establishing/maintaining the proper risk and controls environment, and driving initiatives towards cost reductions. In addition, this role will be the key payroll coordinator for the Madera, CA facility to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll working closely with our Jessup, MD corporate facility.   • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)

  • 2-3 years Accounting/Finance Experience (required)

  • 2-3 years Payroll experience with excellent understanding of California payroll/labor laws

  • Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus





  •  
  •  
  • Some Financial analysis experience strongly preferred





  •  
  •  
  • Additional experience in manufacturing operations a plus





  •

  • Strong MS Excel Skills required

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail

  • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly financial metrics to be reviewed with Plant Manager and Plant Controller for North America.

  • Assist the plant leadership team in development, implementation, and measure of cost reduction initiatives

  • Ensure financial controls are in place to safe guard company assets

  • Responsible for any ad-hoc reports including tracking key trends on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis

  • Coordinate and process employee payroll timely and accurately:




       
    •  
    • Prepares office and shop payrolls, including labor distribution, for over ±220 regular and full-time employees.





    •  
    •  
    • Verifies time cards and labor redistribution logs for pay and benefit hours.





    •  
    •  
    • Verifies and calculates field service hour logs to determine appropriate pay rates, and to distribute expenses to the proper general ledger accounts.





    •  
    •  
    • Reviews and proofs Personnel Change Notices (PCN’s) for accuracy involving new hires, labor department assignment, and pay rates.





    •  
    •  
    • Reviews, proofs, and enters into the payroll system: W-4's, medical and insurance enrollment and change notices, wage garnishments and employee purchase deductions. Oversees the purchase and reimbursement activities for employee safety shoes and glasses benefits.

    • Submits data to Corporate for terminated employment exit checks: Reviews and proofs PCN’s; verifies and computes vacation pay; captures outstanding employee purchases; calculates medical and insurance balances; prepares final checks.

    • Maintains and stores all payroll records.
