We keep current operations running smoothly and provide reliable and efficient computing centers and network infrastructure for scientific programs and the laboratory as a whole. We modernize Fermilab’s information systems and work to improve business processes.

The Enterprise Engineering Applications group is seeking a highly motivated Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Administrator. The selected candidate will develop and support IT systems and services that support Fermilab’s engineering organizations. The position requires knowledge of CERN EDMS products as well as Siemen’s Teamcenter/NX products and will work extensively with Fermilab’s Computing and Engineering organizations.

This position may involve domestic and/or international travel.

You Will

  • Act as a technical expert for the CERN EDMS and Siemens PLM product suite, analyzing and evaluating engineering requirements and developing and implementing systems recommendations to meet engineering requirements.

  • Perform and monitor system diagnostics, trouble shooting and ongoing day-to-day system maintenance.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents within the CERN EDMS and Siemens PLM services.

  • Perform communication via phone / email and hold meetings during non-typical work hours.

  • Provide end user support, training and mentoring for PLM applications including structure manager, relationship browser and lifecycle viewer.

  • Support CAD (NX, AutoCAD) and Engineering (ANSYS, NASTRAN) applications.

  • Estimate time frames, quality, and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project initiatives.

  • Define, document, and create strategies for testing and deployment on new and modified processes.

  • Ensure high quality system deliverables that adhere to standards and procedures, are high performance and scalable, and repeatable for engineering programs.

  • Resolve medium to complex problems where the analysis of processes or data requires extensive functional knowledge.

  • Demonstrate independent thinking and excellent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for systems implementations.

  • Abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with the installation and administration of the Siemens Teamcenter or CERN EDMS PLM software

  • Experience with common office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project

  • Advanced CAD Troubleshooting abilities

  • Ability to install, implement and deploy PLM client installations

  • Ability to perform Change Management in accordance with ITIL standards and procedures

  • Ability to perform PLM upgrades

  • Ability to create and modify process workflows

  • Ability to travel to CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research in Switzerland) and parts of the United States for extended periods of time
