Job Description

Qualifications:  Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey and Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. Master's Degree required. Five (5) years of related nursing experience required, including three (3) years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse. At least one (1) year of supervisory/management experience strongly preferred. Demonstrates effective leadership competencies in order to manage the day-to-day activities of the department. Experience with Worker’s Compensation, Employee Health Screening, FMLA protocols preferred. BLS (CPR) required. ACLS preferred. Computer literacy required.




Responsibilities: The Director of Employee Health is responsible for directing and coordinating the overall activities, daily operations, and administration of Employee Health Services at University Hospital. The Director is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) who has a collaborative practice agreement with a physician and is credentialed through the Medical Staff Office. Is accountable for assuring quality medical care to UH employees by overseeing and performing comprehensive health assessments, differential dia gnosis, and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, as well as addressing the behavioral aspects of illness and disease. Supervises staff of Employee Health Services and ensures that all personnel working at University Hospital are in compliance with Federal, State, Local, TJC, New Jersey State Department of Health and all other regulatory agency requirements, standards and regulati ons. The Director Employee Health is self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competencies.
