Qualifications: Master's Degree in a relevant health related field required, plus five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in Infection Control required. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards/compliance, accreditation standards, data management, and performance improvement methodologies related to Infection Prevention and Control required. Experience in software and hardware applications specific to Infection Prevention and Control monitoring and surveillance benchmarking required. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Director, Infection Prevention and Control position is to develop and direct the activities of the Hospital Infection Prevention and Control Program to prevent and control the spread of communicable and infectious diseases in patients from birth to older adult, employees and visitors in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Medical Staff, Administration of UH, and Employee Health Services.
